Dr. Daniele Albertazzi


Dr. Daniele Albertazzi is Senior Lecturer in European Politics and Postgraduate Research Director at the Department of Political Science and International Studies at University of Birmingham, UK. The major strand of his work has been about populism in Western Europe.  Albertazzi has also published on party organisation, Italian politics, Swiss politics, and the communication strategies, styles of propaganda and mass media use of political parties in contemporary Europe. His monograph Populists in Power, co-written with Duncan McDonnell, has been published by Routledge in February 2015. Albertazzi has also co-edited Twenty-first Century Populism: The Spectre of Western European Democracy, Resisting the Tide Cultures of Opposition Under Berlusconi (2001-06) and The Media, An Introduction – Third edition.

 Prof. Dr. Hans Vorländer

Prof. Dr. Hans Vorländer is Professor of Political Science at the University of Dresden, where he holds the Chair for Political Theory and the History of Political Ideas. From 1997 to 2000 he served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and as a Senator of his University. From 2001 until 2003 Vorländer was President of the German Association of Political Science. He was Chairman of the Scientific Council of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education from 2001 to 2005. Since 2007 he is Director of the Center for the Study of Constitutionalism and Democracy, which he founded. From 2009 until 2014 he was Chairman of the Collaborative Research Center 804 “Transzendenz und Gemeinsinn/Transcendence and Common Sense” at the University of Dresden, which he founded; it was funded by the German Research Foundation. Vorländer is a member of several national and international Editorial and Advisory Boards. He published more than 200 articles in national and international journals and books.
